Privacy Policy

A live chat product cannot run on zero data. Here is what passes through Chatingly and stays with us for a while:

• Your account: nickname, sign-in method or email, the age you confirm, language and other settings.
• Anything you place on your profile yourself, such as a picture or a few lines about you, along with who you follow and who follows you.
• Messages typed through Chatingly, whether during a match, inside a live room or in direct messages.
• Records of matches and calls: time, length and the mode used (video, voice or text).
• Coin purchases, VIP membership, gifts sent and received, and payment confirmations passed to us by the payment processor. Full card numbers never reach us.
• Reports you send, reports other people send about you, and the notes our moderators attach.
• Device and connection details such as browser type, rough location derived from your IP address, and error logs.

Video and sound stream live from you to your match and back. Chatingly does not keep a routine recording of ordinary calls. If a session is reported, moderators may look at material tied to it, for example still frames or the typed chat, to decide whether a rule was broken.

Chatingly can only use your camera or mic after your browser asks and you say yes, and that yes can be revoked in browser settings whenever you like. Text mode needs neither.

• Pairing you with other people and carrying video, voice and text between you.
• Showing a translation when you press the translate button on a message.
• Keeping your coin balance, VIP status, purchases and settings tied to your account.
• Handling reports, removing people who break the rules, and protecting members from harm.
• Finding bugs, stopping fraud and learning which parts of Chatingly get used.
• Answering you when you write to support.

The person you match with sees your Chatingly card, meaning the nickname, age, country, language and level on it, plus whatever your camera catches. Anything you put on your profile can be viewed by other members.

Hosting, streaming, translation, payments and analytics are run with the help of service providers who process data for us and for no other purpose. Chatingly does not sell your personal information or rent it to advertisers or data brokers. We disclose information when the law obliges us to, or when it is needed to stop someone being seriously hurt.

Account data stays for as long as the account exists. Report and moderation records can be held after an account closes so that banned people cannot simply return, and payment records are kept for the periods tax and accounting rules require. Technical logs are cleared on a rolling basis.

You can edit your profile and settings inside Chatingly. To get a copy of your data, correct something or have your account and its data erased, write to [email protected] from the email linked to the account. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is really you.

Chatingly is meant only for adults of 18 or more. Collecting information about younger people is never our intention, and accounts that appear to belong to a minor are closed once we find them. Tell us through the community guidelines contact route if you spot one.

Any revision to this policy updates the date shown above. Bigger changes will also be flagged inside Chatingly. The terms of service explain the rest of the agreement between you and us.
